Pastor - Rev. Don VanVoorhis
Rev. Don VanVoorhis My wife Becky and I feel blessed in our welcome to Somerville Methodist Church and look forward to serving here.
Somerville Methodist Church meets for worship at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings at 10:55 a.m. in the historic sanctuary for a traditional celebration. The Youth and Children of the church meet on Wednesday evenings, and all ages gather for Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. Join us!
Director of Children & Youth Ministries - Kim Gist
Kim Gist is the Director of Children and Youth for Somerville Methodist Church. Kim is an active member of the church and is eager to help guide and develop the program.
Kim and her husband, Adam are the parents of two girls.
Nursery Director - Alice Holden
Alice Holden is one of Somerville Methodist Church's very best treasures! She has been with us in the nursery for 15 years and is one of the most friendly, nurturing, and energetic people you will meet.
Choir Director - Steve Loines
Joyful Noise Director - Amy Campbell
Amy Campbell has been leading our children's choir for the last several years and does a wonderful job with our children.
She has a passion for the Lord and music, and it really shows in the effort she puts into the Children's Choir programs.
Organist - Jon Settlemires
Pianist - Sarah Belle Day
Sarah Belle Day has accompanied worship at Somerville Methodist Church since junior high school. Initially playing both organ and piano, Sarah Belle accompanies the traditional service by playing congregational hymns and inspiring offertories. After graduating from Fayette County High School, Sarah Belle earned a BA in Music and English from Lambuth College and an MEd from the University of Memphis. She taught in the Fayette County public school system for 8 years and taught at Fayette Academy for 47 years. She is now retired and enjoys visiting with friends.
Administrative Assistant - Lane Hendrix
Lane Hendrix has been with us here at Somerville Methodist Church since September 2021. She has many years of experience in accounting and office work. She and her husband recently moved here from California where they owned their own business. Lane was born in Memphis and graduated from Germantown High School.
Lane is married and has three children. She enjoys spending time with her horses, dogs and cats as well as helping her husband with his race car.
